It's been a bit of a whirlwind as I was getting all over their case just a day ago but my vibe has had a major shift today. Not just Foundry, but there are some license changes potentially coming and some of the stuff from campaign frames is going into the SRD and well... a lot more.Just a quick comment to say how happy I am to hear all the news about Foundry. I'm going to try as hard as I can to get a game going with it. I'll gladly share details if I can put it together.
I casually mentioned to my players that I was interested in the Journey to Horizon campaign frame. They were curious, but as soon as I explained that it was like Zelda and some of the FF games with a dash of Lord of the Rings, they leaped on it. I have never seen my group leap this quickly on any game before. Absolutely rabid!
"Why didn't you mention this earlier? We could have made our characters tonight!"
"Because tonight we agreed to play board games and I wasn't sure if you guys would even be interested in that or maybe Monster of the Week or this other game I just got... "
Daggerheart it is.![]()
I'm very curious about the travel procedures. They feel like they won't get too bogged down while still having some weight. Please report back with how the procedures feel in play! If it had been in the core book I would be running it rn.
It's WIP but I've been running a playtest campaign of my Golden Daggers homebrew; a heavily hacked Daggerheart core (I've abolished domains for one due to print budget) with the setting inspired by K-Pop Demonhunters and paying tribute to Tenacious D. And there's a spinoff coming that covers large chunks of Persona, Power Rangers, and Magical Girl games (i.e. school kids that transform into powered people).I've actually been curious and already waiting for someone to take the Daggerheart blueprints and make a new game with it that isn't just "DH in space" or "DH out west" but actually fine tune the system and progress it without trying to also appease players who want d20 fantasy.
yes, they have released some books (starter set, 2 FR, Eberron, Ravenloft, 2 more FR in September), in print. If you have seen nothing and heard nothing that is clearly on youDoes WotC even release anything in a given year that is for tRPGs?
I am thinking second in terms of Paizo being first. I’ve not seen anything from WotC since the core 2024 books and that’s been almost 2 years now.
Do they just put out a lot more stuff but only on their paywalled website so outsiders like me have no awareness that WotC actually does make content?
That's about mid-rate quantity. Split over how much time, 2026, or 2024-2026.yes, they have released some books (starter set, 2 FR, Eberron, Ravenloft, 2 more FR in September), in print. If you have seen nothing and heard nothing that is clearly on you
