Daggerheart Discussion

You see that that's a "you" problem, right? Have you explored ADHD diagnosis?

Mod Note:
Hey there.
You have been reported 14 times in the past 18 days for various forms of rudeness.
And here you are again, making it personal, and kind of insulting.

Enough. You are done in this discussion. Please find a way to generally dial it back, because you causing issues this frequently isn't something we can support in the long term.

I don't think anyone is arguing that you have a valid opinion. That's why there are different ways to play games with different VTTs or other software.

I think you might be conflating me with a prior poster, but my only point was that people sometimes have to address their own limitations, and there's a tendency to assume that if they try Playing In Manner X they'll really learn to love it, when not only might they not love it, in practice, they might simply not be able to play that way.

Plus I found myself needing to express my confusion that some people seem to need a VTT to manage bookkeeping, even in games where people played it manually and managed their own bookkeeping for years. But maybe that's me being an old man.

Where do the posters on the DH thread stand on curating ancestries? I definitely see the justification for pre-made campaign frames to cast a net as wide as possible, but in the games I run, I tend to limit ancestries (so for example, you don’t find elves and dwarves in the 1001 Nights inspired setting).
I mean, it depends on the nature of the campaign being run, but generally speaking my philosophy is to not deny officially released Cool Things to the players, so I don't tend to curate much. But then, I kinda like the crowd at the local tavern to be as diverse as the Star Wars cantina scene.

There is certainly an implied setting, even with the diverse campaign frames. And the frames themselves curtail ancestries a bit if they don't make sense (clanks in Motherboard, for example) or, more commonly, adjust the flavor (ribbits in Age of Umbra), so that they fit the feel of the setting better.
