Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again season two discussion

OK so now we know it’s Luke who is working for the CIA.

Also, what is the significance of the earrings? Why did Heather take one, and how did Fisk figure out it was her, and why did he give her the other one? What did it all mean?
The earrings were Vanessa's. I think they were from the Ball scene in Season 1, but may be from earlier in Season 2?

I took the significance to be they represented Vanessa to Heather. Because of her current less than stable mental state Heather took one as a momento of her "lost" friend.

How Fisk figured out? I assume that Buck reported to him that he found Heather wandering Gracie Mansion after the funeral, specifically in the bedroom. Fisk is more than smart enough to put 2 and 2 together when he finds only a single earring of a pair in the box.

Why did he give it to her? Well, that I took as a commentary on Fisk's mental state. I think prior to Vanessa's death Fisk would have taken theft of any property, no matter how small, as a matter to be responded to with the same treatment he meted out on the doctor who attempted to save Vanessa. With Vanessa's death, Fisk is still out of sorts. He sees Heather as an ally, but a flawed one in this case. He is finding his way so a small generosity is given, but I would also see it as a warning. Here is your gift now, do it again and you will suffer (red gems being the colour of blood, etc.).

Cheers :)

Or he sees something of Vanessa in Heather, and it interests him on some level.
Could also be true.

Just based upon the acting in the scene I did not take that impression away. The way Fisk had set up the scenario (calling Heather to his office, making small talk about the attorney/prosecutor, then placing the earring on the desk with no explanation) just said it was an act (or attempted act) of control on Fisk's part. Or perhaps better to call it a test?

Cheers :)

Oh, and sorry for the double post, but since no one has brought it up.

What are people's thoughts about the whole Daniel, Bibi, and Buck situation?

Cheers :)

Daniel made the right choice, even if it cost him his life. Buck made the wrong choice, and it likely cost him what little was left of his soul. I hope that BB manages to evade Buck and survive.

I like that they just casually stuck Avengers Tower in the opening cityscape scenes.
Yes, there were lots of little bits and pieces here and there that are not dwelt on, but just enhance the show.

Like, when Heather is "assessing" Karen and Karen starts effectively pushing some buttons there is a quick shot of Muse in the mirrored window of the interrogation room. Not quite blink and you miss it, but in the background enough that it you are not looking for it you will not see it. Not necessary to make or break the scene, but just a little extra enhancement in post-production (I assume) to show the state of mind of the characters.

Related to that, I am not a Daredevil comic reader and have not seen the original show. What was Heather on about with Karen killing her brother? I know she did kill someone (came up in previous dialogue between her and Matt when talking about Bullseye), but I did not get the impression it was a family member.

Cheers :)

I heard someone mention (in some podcast or other) that the red earrings have a flower shape, which is reminiscent of the blood splatter on Muse's shirt.

Interesting. If true, it shows lots of planning going into the minor details by the producers.

I don't think Daniel made the complete right choice, and that's what cost him his life. Sure, let BB go. But why confront Buck? The only way that's anything but bravado is if he did it because he knows if he didn't his mother would be at risk.
