Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again season two discussion

I liked Luke Cage. The first half of seaons 1 is better than the 2nd IMO, but, it was all still pretty good.

I agree that Iron Fist was ... less good. :D

I enjoyed Hawkeye FWIW. I still haven't seen Echo - just haven't gotten around to it. But, yeah, for my money Jessica Jones is the best of the bunch.

JJ is good but be warned that the villain is very disturbing

Luke Cage 1 is good, 2 goes a bit off the rails but its an okay watch

and yes Iron Fist and Defenders are rubbish (although Coleen Wing and Mistys story happens in Iron Fist and its a pity to miss that).

Hawkeye is good, Echo is okay, but it gets a bit stretched out

I love Hawkeye! It’s become a regular rewatch at Christmas time.

I enjoyed Echo but agree it could have been shorter. (But then the new Punisher special could have been longer in contrast …)

I’m most of the way through S1 of Jessica Jones now, and yeah, David Tennant’s baddie is pretty disturbing. Mind control is always pretty disturbing.

FWIW I am now watching the original Jessica Jones series so I can understand her character and her place in the “street level, NYC-based MCU” better.

I didn’t enjoy DD S2 much because of all the mystical BS and the infinite, unkillable ninjas, so I’m going to pass on The Defenders because I understand it’s more of that (complete with Elektra), but are any of the others worth watching? I’ve heard Iron Fist isn’t that great, but is Luke Cage’s show any good?

I wish Disney would do more of the low stakes MCU stuff that Netflix used to do. Yes, they’ve brought back Daredevil (with mixed results), but I’d like to see more stuff like Agent Carter and Agents of SHIELD and the like. You know, the stuff that’s more about ordinary people living in a world of superheroes rather than stuff about said superheroes.
"Luke Cage" is really good. "Iron Fist" and "Defenders" makes you want to take a cheese grater to Danny Rand's face.

Aren't you happy to hear they're bringing him back, and also didn't recast him? I powered through Iron Fist and Defenders because Iron Fist is one of my favorite characters but woof, his acting and fight scenes are terrible.

A lot of that was the show. Scott Buck wanted it on a certain schedule and didn't give time for anything. Other people were better because they got time to do some semblance of line readings and choreo training. But they were rewriting scripts, changing tone and plot, and doing choreo up to the time of shooting, so he got time for pretty much nothing.

I know this is the story that won out (vs he was awful because he didn't put in the time training), but considering his performances in every other thing I've seen him in I'm more inclined to believe he was just an actor cast outside of his range because he was still hot from Game of Thrones. I guess we'll see next season.

He was a lot better in Luke Cage S2. Night and day in both choreo and acting. The script also seemed to be written by someone who knew of the dynamic. And this one didn't just 'win out', it was more people saying it vs the one stunt person that was put out because of whatever and put out the opposing piece.
