I know there hasn't really been anyone hanging out here in a while. I just wanted to post an adventure that I wrote for Dawning Star. I hope you enjoy it. The adventure is for 3rd level characters and is intended as an option to get characters out into the Helios system without just handing them a ship.

This adventure was originally intended to be the first adventure in a campaign for dawning star. If you have any questions please let me know. (although I never did get any work done on the other adventures.) I think that it is generic enough that you could port it to Star Wars or traveller pretty easily.

Looks good - it's a well structured investigation. Are the cryo-rifles new? I thought they were described a bit inconsistently in different places.
 


The sign up was mostly perfunctory, as soon as I filled out the form it let me download it, didn't even have to check email and verify anything.

I have to admit not having had a chance to dig into it too deep. I've mostly looked at the xenomorphs and equipment. The Mauler is quite aptly named. That 28 STR is brutal, (combined with the Grab), I'd say it is too much for a standard CR 5 critter, but then, this is a futuristics game where you expect everyone to attack from range, (heaven help the schmuck who decides to go hand to hand). But that is just my casual first impression and I know Salcor isn't new to number crunching.

The cryorifles are in the D20 future book, which I used then modified them with gadgets. The major gadget that I created that makes them different is the stream weapons gadget listed under the weapons info. How is the descriptions incosistent?

As to the mauler, I intended that to be a tough fight for the party, perhaps even one that they should run away from. Perhaps to make it easier the creature can already be injured.

I'm probably reading too much into it. In some places they produce frost and in others they inject cryostasis drugs, which I would think slow the metabolism and prevent tissue damage, rather than making things cold - but it makes sense in context for the item to do both.
