Unless, of course, the last hour of 24 is Jack convulsing, spitting out and screaming due to pain or madness. Which would be a kind of awesome finale. Certainly one that would be remembered 24 would be remembered for even in decades.

I read the spoilers for the rest of the season. They're setting up next year's hero, by cleverly drawing in Kim Bauer as a potential way to cure her father. But Jack Bauer dies of seizures and madness in hour 23, and Kim arrives at the last minute, showing a surprising intensity and bad-assitude born from three years working as a mercenary for . . . Starkwood!
When she finds out her father died because of her company's plot, she realizes the error of her ways, and enlists in a new Counter Terrorism Unit. The final scene of the season is of a terrorist talking to someone on a cell phone, about how they're planning to "give L.A. another go now that Bauer is finally f***ing dead."
"Good," comes the reply from the other end of the line, and we end on the big reveal of next season's villain . . . the puma.

Actually, I sort of was thinking that Agent Walker was turning into the female Jack Bauer. I could go for watching her kick butt for a season on her own.
Oh, and related to the show, I think she should have okayed the attack or spoke with her people, telling them the situation and determining how they can fool the bad. But she didn't seem to have done either. IMO, she is like the worst of all the Presidents. Bring back Palmer! He was the DUDE!
