Dex & Cha Class Leader?

TarionzCousin

Second Most Angelic Devil Ever
Is there a Leader whose main abilities are either Dexterity or Charisma?

We need to fill a niche in our 4E group (rotating DM's) and the player of the rogue character misses 3/4 of the sessions. Also, the Cleric's player is going to miss most of the summer's sessions.

So it would be helpful if the new guy (current DM) was trained in Diplomacy, Thievery, and had some Healing Powers/Prayers.

Now taking suggestions. :D

None of the leader classes have Dex primary or secondary stats unfortunately.

Here's a list:
Artificer - Int and Con/Wis
Bard - Cha and Int/Con
Cleric - Wis and Str/Cha
Shaman - Wis and Con/Int
Ardent - Cha and Con/Wis
Runepriest - Str and Con/Wis

Your best bet is likely the bard, but an Ardent might also work as long as you pick up a background to get Thievery as a class skill. Either Bard or Ardent is likely to be in chainmail although bards get light shields for free.

Just about it.

Sadly, the Bard does not have a lot of actual powers that do Healing early on. There's a daily that grants HP if you hit the target (although I forget if that's the Cha/Int built or the Cha/Con build). Theft of Life at level 7 is Cha/Int (but me, being a Cha/Wis build, still takes it because Int just gives temp HP).

One avenue your Rogue could go is somehow getting trained in the Heal skill, and taking one of the Heal skill powers. Granted, most of the early ones focus on "Get adjacent to a dying ally and give 'em a surge", which you could do with a heal skill if they hadn't done their SW.

The MC feats aren't as useful given they only give you an (Insert) Word as a daily, rather than an Encounter.

Edit: Ardent? Really? Huh. Also, I thought you might be wanting the rogue player to MC, not run a new character. Bards I think are great - my favorite Leader in fact.

How about being a bard, then go for paragon multiclass with sorcerer and take Sorserous Power feat which allows you to add either your strength or int to damage rolls of your arcane powers?

Eagle Shamans have dexterity as a secondary. Pick a background that gives thievery as a trained option and maybe a bonus to it (Luskan if you're allowed FR backgrounds). Pick up Mark of Scribing (or be a Kalashtar and give yourself +2 diplomacy). Then pick a multiclass with which you can train Diplomacy. Make sure you also train insight (and you'll be good at it with good wisdom, especially if you're Kalashtar).

Being a Shaman you also conveniently can use Speak with Spirits to give yourself a sizable bonus with important Diplomacy or Thievery checks.

Here is a quick level 1 outline for a Kalashtar Eagle Shaman:

The player in question was playing a bard before and wasn't enjoying it.

So far Artificer fits the bill best: some healing, some Thievery.

Eagle Shaman might also work for him, but there are no Kalashtar in this campaign.

Thanks everybody!

The Runepriest isn't Dex based, but isn't Thievery one of their class skillz? That might prove helpful and open up other doors for background benefits and/or multiclass feats.

Generally though I think the 2 per encounter heals are plenty for many parties, and the MC dailies just give that extra emergency heal when you really need it.

And of course, there's always healing potions and second wind items to pick up the slack, like that cloak that lets you spend 2 surges on a 2nd wind.
