[Distant Horizons Games] The Practical Enchanter, now FREE!

A while back, I posted a thread about my review of DHG's book The Practical Enchanter over at lulu.com.

Now, the guys at Distant Horizons Games have actually gone and released the book as a free download over at RPGNow! Further, they've taken steps to correct everything that was wrong with the old PDF file - the size has been condensed down to about 40 megabytes, it has full bookmarks, and the text is all OCR now.

I'll be posting a more in-depth review over at RPGNow soon (since they have no character limit on reviews, unlike Lulu), but in the meantime, I can't recommend this product strongly enough. It is, I think, one of the best d20 books ever written, and with it now being offered for free, there's absolutely no reason you shouldn't be downloading it already!

Thanks Distant Horizons Games!

(Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Distant Horizons Games in any way, shape, or form. I just really like their work. ;) )

Well I may have been hard on them for their style of pdf but I have commend them for their generosity! They have indeed filled the pdf with bookmarks etc... making it a very pleasant pdf.

Thanks for the news Alzrius!

From the Book:

Well, reviews are good, but publicity is nil, so we’re releasing
the .PDF version of The Practical Enchanter as Shareware: If you
like it, please drop by and pay for it (or buy the print edition at
Lulu.Com) and get on our list for the fourth edition update once
Wizards of the Coast releases the 4'th edition SRD.

So its a free download but if you like it.... Supporting the publisher is good.

As Sigurd said, the free version seems to be an act of generosity, with a pay option available if you should feel like paying them for the PDF (or a print version of the book). :)
