Do gamers dream of electric dice?

So, last night I confirmed that too much of my latent gray-matter is devoted to gaming.

I had a dream that I was out of hot water, but neeed to take a shower. The obvious solution was to ask my wife (a mid-level Druid, of course) to cast Endure Elements on me, so I wouldn't be effected by the cold. Over the course of the winter, we saved enough money on hot water bills that we were able to afford to pay off our student loans, and have enough left over for a wand of Mage Hand, to help with the dishes.

When I woke up, I wasn't sure whether to laugh, or cry...

Just thought I'd share. Anyone else find that their games invade their subconscious in strange and interesting ways?

yeah, i rape, pillage, and burn all the time in my dreams.

it is disturbing to my coworkers when i do it while daydreaming.

I wouldnt say invade my dreams, I am one of those folks that likes to 'daydream' when I go to sleep, that is I am one of those folks that likes to control my dreams before going into normal sleep and having 'normal' dreams. Kinda like playtesting new baddies or rules for my campaigns. But the way some of my friends look at me or comment when I talk about it I have a feeling not everyone can control their dreams like that. Does that make me a geeks geek? When geeks and people you think have some freaky idiosyncrasies look at you like your a freak makes you wonder about you mental stability :p :D

Probably this is one of those 'too much information' posts  :D :p

Oh yeah.

Don't worry though, its a good thing. How many non-geeks know the vulnerabilities of green slime after all? Sure, it's fun to laugh now, but they'll sing a different tune when faced with a medium-sized slime.

Naw. Not too much information at all.

I've always thought lucid dreaming was interesting stuff. Never been able to do it, myself, but friends of mine swear they've been able to teach themselves how. Gaming applications aside, it must be a fantastically fun way to work off stress...

Mmmm... I think I do that as well. Only I let my dreams do the DMing and I hack away as a player. I am never as happy to wake up as after a Call of Cthulhu dream session! ;)

Not only is this thread not too much information, but it's info that has places to go, and people to see! (once I move it to The Hive, that is!) ;)

Nope, never had gaming invade my dreams THAT much - though I have dreamed monsters and things that I gave D&D stats to later, and put into my games!

hehe, I mean mmore like what FS said, i guess the term is lucid dreaming, I have complete control of the dreama nd take it where I want, even 'rewind' and do it differently.

I dont think I would like having a lovecraftian dream without having complete control of it though... :p :D

I can interact in my normal dreams too but no 'rewind' or anything, I know I am dreaming and can decide to do this or that but I dont have the same control as the dreams I 'generate' myself. And if I wake up or let some thought drift the dream to something else I cant get back tot hat same dream, its never the same. The dreams I 'trance/zone out' into when going to sleep I have complete control of. But eventually I will start to loose control after a few dreams or a really long dream I have 'rehashed' many times and know that I am entering a deeper sleep and so 'let go' and start having normal dreams and then my sleep is normal after that.

Dunno, either its a really cool ability of mine or I did too many drugs in my more youthfull days. :p :D ;)

Well, a little part of me is aware it's all a dream and that I'm in control, only usually I choose not to use it. It makes things much more fun, IMHO. :)
My mind often also produces some awfully complicated puzzle I have to solve, that is likely to haunt for days if I don't, asleep or not.
