Something I never thought about before but just assumed they did. I looked for a reference to confirm but couldn't find one.

Yes.

Synergy Bonuses: What once was called a synergy bonus in the previous version of the D&D game is now just an unnamed bonus. For example, if you have 5 or more ranks in the Handle Animal skill, you get a +2 bonus on Ride checks and wild empathy checks. As an unnamed bonus, this stacks with other bonuses you might have to Ride checks or wild empathy checks.

In 3.0 I belive there was a reference that syngery bonuses stacked. In 3.5 they changed the terminology to the unnamed bonus, apparently to avoid confusion (perhaps not always successfully).

And that unnamed stackable bonus is what makes half elves terrific diplomats if you have at least 5 ranks in bluff, sense motive AND knowledge (noblity and royalty) plus Complementary Insight feat... +9 free to diplomacy checks is just awesome.

I know it's almost always a bad idea playing a half elf, but it's just to give an example on how cool may get those synergy bonus.
