D&D General Do you have a class that you don't play?

Parallel to this thread: Do you have a preferred class that you play?

Sticking to the D&D and D&D-like class fantasy space, is there any class or class type that you avoid playing whenever possible? Might be just lack of interest, or a dislike of the class trope, or something about the class mechanics that rubs you the wrong way.

For me, it's the fighter. In 35 years of playing D&D, I've never played a single-classed fighter. Closest I've come to the class is a Fighter/Magic User in 2e, a 2 level dip in 3e, and a 1 level dip in 5e.

i'd have to play before i have a class i didn't play but out of all the classes i haven't played barbarian and wizard appeal the least to me.

with barbarian, it's that most everything seems centralized around rage (something i loathed to see with 24 hunter's mark ranger) and on the other hand with the wizard it was just, all spells, all spells no features.

In my regular group, I don't play bards. Not because I don't want to. I would love to play a bard. But we have one player who refuses to play anything except bards, specifically glamour bards. Said player always says this shouldn't prevent anyone else from playing a bard, but I don't want to be "the other bard." And also, in my experience, too many social characters in a group (it's a large one, usually 7 players + GM) leads to a lot of awkwardness about who's going to handle any given social situation.

It makes me sad, as the very first D&D 5E character I created was a bard, and he never got beyond level 2.

I've never played a druid. Not that I don't want to, but for much of my gaming career the class was viewed as weak, restrictive or hard to play. When I got back to playing rather than DM, I had so many other characters I wanted to play more that I never got around to it. Now I'm back to Forever DM.

On a related note, I didn't play a monk for a prolonged period or and my only paladin died young. So maybe both I played for a handful of sessions each.

I have never played a druid. Not that I wouldn't want to, they seem flavorful, the politics of druid circles seems like it could be fun and who doesn't like turning into animals? But the one time I had a chance to do so (a dwarven druid) someone else at the table chose to be. . . a dwarven druid, so I changed to barbarian, I think.

I am currently playing a paladin for the first time (multi-classed rogue assassin - also the first time).

But there is no class I would avoid on purpose. I am all about choosing based on character idea not mechanics, and thus I imagine that given enough chances to play, I could come up with ideas for any class.

Easily Monk. I've never felt they fit into the typical D&D setting, and are instead shoehorned in because players like it. Mechanically I've never seen much of a problem with them, even if they always tend towards the weaker end of the scale.

Honorable Mention: Warlock. The mechanics of the warlock have always been wonky, but the theme is pretty solid. I've only played it once, in 5E, and the mechanics were just unfun for me.
