D&D 5E (2024) Do You Prefer D&D 5.5E/2024 to D&D 5E/2014?

Depends. 2024 Monk runs circles around 2014 Monk. Warlock in 2024 is a deliberate attempt to murder everything good at 2014 Warlock, excrpt for being less Eldritch Blast drpendent

I didn't vote, but I prefer: having to memorize only one version of the ruleset at a time, as that is hard enough for me as it is. Since I'm currently playing 5.5e 2024, that would make it the preferred version for me right now.

there's a selection of specific things that i think '24 is an improvement for, but i like '14 (post tasha's) better as a baseline.

Post-Tasha's '14 is my preference. Tying stat bonuses to either race OR background is no bueno.

They both have issues, but IME 5.5E is vastly superior to DM. I'm about to start a 5.5E game as a player, so I'll find out how it goes.

Only slightly, because the monsters in 2024 have been geared up a bit.

Both are great for combining into your own preferred 5e mash up.

5.5 is smoother to play with being more engaging, in terms of combat rules. Plus as a DM the commitment to include more adventures at different lengths into the core books is such a boon that it baffles me that more people aren't talking it up.
