Do you read gaming fiction?

Been devouring a lot of Warhammer fiction lately. Fast moving pulp fantasy/SF that's a lot of fun.

Yeap it is, though I haven't read those really old ones. I only read Skavenslayer but didn't enjoy it that much.

They (Black Library) does have quite a good list of authors. Ian Watson, Kim Newman (writing as Jack Yeovil) are no small potatoes.

The only gaming fiction I've read and consider worthy of owning a copy is The Deed of Paksennarion - well, it's unlicensed "might as well be D&D" fiction. :) I might read more if I knew of reliably good authors, but I don't, and I don't want to waste money on something that turns out to be crappy. (I don't like doing that in general.)

Yes, I read gaming fiction. I've been a fan of R.A. Salvatore's Forgotten Realms novels for quite some time now.

Some day, I also plan on reading the first two Dragonlance trilogies by Weis and Hickman, which I've heard are very good (although I've heard that I can skip all the other Dragonlance novels).

Every couple of years I go on a short gaming fiction binge for 3 or 4 books, then realize that they still haven't gotten much better than the last time I tried them. There are some exceptions, and they are genarally quick reads, so a couple of afternoons spent slumming through a few bad fantasy novels isn't all that bad.
