Doctor Strange - Sorcerer Supreme

Conjured Weapon - Basically anything from swords, to staves and axes.. its a matter of style because the weapons are all functionally manifestations of arcane power rather than actual things... most are fancy in appearance jewel encrusted etc. (this effect is functionally the same as the feat reapers touch.

Basic Power Absorption - trigger attacked by a arcane/divine/primal power or creature with an attack who's form approximates magical effects - retaliate by grabbing the energy out of it Attack Charisma or Con versus Reflexes Hit the enemy who triggered the attack is powerless (stunned save ends) and grants combat advantage till the end of next turn. Demons, devils, incarnate magic creatures are stunned (all there actions are effectively an act of power) save ends
miss: gain temporary damage resistance against the power

You must have one primal power or primal multiclass feat to absorb a Primal Attack. You must have one Arcane power or arcane multiclass feat to absorb an Arcane Attack. You must have one Divine Power or divine multiclass feat to absorb a Divine Attack.

The DM will have to decide on monster attack's which they qualify for.
for many this is functionally like being stunned.

Seraphimic Shield - Perhaps Like the swordmages shields less reach pick any 2 defenses which 2 may be changed each turn - only able to aide adjacent allies or may be damage resistance not sure

Seraphimic Shield Barrier - stop an approaching enemy - stops charging enemy attack of reasonable size, when penetrated take psychic damage

Three Entrapment/Sleep spells
Mesmeric Transfiction - resisted by will
Rings or Ribbons of Raggador - resisted by fortitude
Crimson Bands of Cytorak - Resisted by reflex

I've got this guy on my to-do list for a future concepts, hehe. I'm thinking Swordmage, actually; as I see sorcerer supreme as an honorary title moreso than a description...
Damnit, now I want a burrito supreme. :p

Although the reapers touch actually describes the weapon aspect far better than the swordmages toy obcession. Both the shielding and dimension ripping of the Swordmages is definitely there.

I included the weapon flavored focus not really for stephen himself because Stephen rather rejected the weapon aspect, in favor of a more Monk unarmed focusing tool.

Perhaps we just need more openly referbished swordmages ;p where they pick any weapon including unarmed.

And the fellow with all his binding focus does indeed use Orbs imagine that.

The triple set of Binding invocations are very much from the comic books... and the fact that they (really do seem to be treated as one which is better for weaker opponents and one which is better for lower willed opponents and one for those less agile) etc...

Is a mechanic that seems very suited to 4e... if I didnt dislike how sleep works so much I would be happier about introducing 2 new wizard spells mechanically similar.

Perhaps if he is a Orbizard with multiclassed swordmage and some way to use sheilding more often ;p.
 

Oh and I figure Sorceror Supreme was actually his paragon path... or actually Master of the Mystic arts at paragon with Sorceror Supreme being epic destiny.
 

guess his martial arts strikes can be a reskinned reapers touch like his buddies... Am I right in that a Monk Wizard would umm suck.

My first thought when reading the above power was to use the Magic Circle mechanics in a 3 square wall... possibly moveable on a sustain. That would make it a good, scaling power.

I like the idea of a Sorcerer Supreme epic destiny!

I am not sure I like needing a power/feat for each power source would work.. it would turn the path into something gained best through the Bard.

I find myself wanting to build knew powers ... an inclination I don't often have. So many can be versatiley re-flavored it very often isn't necessary.

In a large chunk of his stories he goes by Master of the Mystic Arts till finally it goes to a whole new level... as Sorceror Supreme he is responsible for guarding this entire plane of existance... in true comic fashion he gets stripped of power and finds new routes to re achieve it... even learning black magic at one point... he gets disbarred from the universe by a goddess... he sends avatars back in to do his jobs as fractions of his identity in true god style himself.

Yeah it was actually an older thought I had lying around and I am pretty sure I dont like that part much now.

[/sblock]So, I built him and managed to squeeze in 4 power sources (psionic, primal, arcane, and divine). He's also viable (thank you expertise/focus). All of his powers rely on Dex, Wis, and/or Cha. I chose the cosmic cycle because, although it favors strength, it fit his theme better and was the only one that gave resistance plus something worthwhile. His 4 attacks at encounter/daily are divided into 1 for each power source. He's a reasonable combatant, as well as a spellcaster, with a range of close burst/blast area and ranged attacks to complement his melee attack from monk. He's also a decent leader.

Heh, I will have to build the Im mostly a wizard version ... globe of invulnerability (screams doctor strange) and maze and prismatic wall... magic missiles ... reapers touch which I house rule alllow for any race because its perfectly skinnable.
