Isn't that still flying, invisible spellcasters (though not greater invisible) by 9th level? It ups the power level of casters too much IMO!I didn't get it on first read either, but that actually sounds like a decent rule.
A flying invisible caster that isn't fighting, because he'd lose invisibility, is okay by me. It's a second and third level spell slot to scout for 10 minutes or get into position for a single surprise spell(which you can do with just invisibility).Isn't that still flying, invisible spellcasters (though not greater invisible) by 9th level? True, though Fly and Improved Invisibility (albeit 1 minute, but a very powerful combo during a fight) make 7 spell levels.A flying invisible caster that isn't fighting, because he'd lose invisibility, is okay by me. Yes, but you need to be able to cast 7th level spells, and by that point a lot of things encountered can see invisibility, have true sight, or blindsight. Plus the majority of games never reach that level.True, though Fly and Improved Invisibility (albeit 1 minute, but a very powerful combo during a fight) make 7 spell levels.

It doesn't bother me. Mainly because most classes are spellcasters and even the non-casting ones have casting subclasses. But when they do (my group has hit 19th), IMO casters certainly don't need MORE power and versatility!
I suppose it would be interesting to explore in a campaign where all the PCs were high level casters- and what kind of effect that would have on encounters.
yeah, but by that point see invisibility, blindsight are more common and even truesight can be expected.True, though Fly and Improved Invisibility (albeit 1 minute, but a very powerful combo during a fight) make 7 spell levels.
