I'll repeat in brief what I said on CircvsMaximvs.

[sblock]There had better be a damned good explanation for why Boyd did what he did. Because as of right now it makes absolutely no sense.

All I can figure is, I dunno, maybe Boyd was in charge, realized his company was getting out of his control, and decided to bring it down from the inside. No, that's silly.

Also, they have ignored a fair bit of Epitaph One. I don't see why they chose that one scene to include.

What one scene?

Boyd and Dr. Saunders, as he's packing to leave. It was in Epitaph One. I'll have to rewatch my copy, though, because I think they dubbed over one line. Either way, I would have preferred they refilm the scene rather than splice it in. Something about it felt just a little off.

I think the key thing about Boyd is that who is really implanted inside that body. Since Clyde V is clearly a doll, Boyd most likely is another one.

He would have to be a doll v2 or something because whenever there has been stuff that 'turns off' the dolls he hasn't be affected (or else he wasn't around and i just don't remember?)

Hm., that's a good point. I don't think Boyd was ever effected by the various doll zappers that have popped up on the series, which does suggest that Boyd is the original and not a doll, though I had though there was some suggestion that the founder of Rossum had switched bodies several times.

Agreed, there were suggestions that high ranking board members (and this probably the owners/founders) had multiple bodies. Even in that most recent episode there was a line "a board member of Rossum would never confine his brain profile to a single body" (or something like that).
Plus, the guy in the room with Boyd, he was (forget name) the II "well actually the 5th after all the body changes but that's a long story" -- the original of that guy was one of the people they met in the attic

So, I wasn't disagreeing with the premise of boyd being a doll, just he'd be a special doll version.

i do have to say as soon as i saw dr. s walk in to the room with the scientist i guessed what was about to happen. (in season 1, dr s was always trying to get topher to notice her -- not necessarily in "that" way but to notice her none the less). However, I did not see the Boyd scene happening at all (i just figured that boyd was in on it was dr s but not to that level - it was a good twist). I've been trying to remember how he got involved at the start of season 1.

My best recollection is that the series starts with him already in the dollhouse as Echo's handler, with frequent allusions to his past history in law enforcement.

My thinking at this point, subject to change, is that the "real" Boyd Langdon's body was taken over by Rossum in order to put him into deep cover (though in that case, why appear to Caroline in his Boyd persona, unless finding out that Boyd is Rossum is also part of the great big super secret mega plan).

Hm. Much as I liked it, I agree with RW, that there better be a pretty satisfying payoff to warrant whatever Rossum's plan is, or it will wind up looking pretty stupid in retrospect.
