I think it's the angle that certain shots are taken from. She has sort of a long face, with her cheekbones higher up, relative to her nose, than in most "western" women. That, and the set of her eyes gives her sort of an "odd" look when viewed in certain positions. Seeing other pictures of her I agree she is rather stunningly beautiful. I need to get me to Tibet! :)

What he said.

Plus, when a picture is reduced and viewed on a computer screen, a pixel suddenly has to decide to be "skin" or "background", and the face gets distorted because of it. Seeing other pictures of this actresss, I think that is what happened.

That being said, she's the most perfect representation of the D&D elf I've seen. Even better than Kristin Kreuk (okay, maybe Kristin is an elf and Dichen is an eladrin).

I've never been a fan of Eliza Dushku and I wish Whedon would stop trying to manufacture a vehicle for her.

I have to agree. She just isn't a very good actress, in general. She has her moments, on occasion, but that's not enough to carry a series.

Heh. I just wanted to reply that she looks 'odd' to you, since she looks a bit like an elf, but as I see you already figured it our for yourself. :D

Bye
