This is according Wyatt's twitter account. I'm really surprised by this because I was expecting Dominaria to be done like Ravnica, an official hardcover product, instead of by unofficial Planeshift article.

Can we get a link to that, please? I agree that this sounds surprising, but didn't Magic return to Dominaria ages ago, after the Ixalan storyline? I'm honestly surprised they're only just releasing it. Either way, I find it fascinating; all I know about Dominaria is that it's a world which actually serves as the "Nexus" of the MtG Multiverse - Ravnica might seem superficially similar to Sigil, but Dominaria is like if the Forgotten Realms were Sigil.

It’s because they just released the related Art book.

They just released the art book, and Dominara is the current live set you can buy cards for in stores.

Wyatt said on Twitter that Card Block/Art Book/Planeshift product is still how they are working: just that Planeshift for Ravnica will be a hardcover book instead of a PDF.

He so far has released them along with the art books or shortly thereafter....and the art book is out so....

Right, I imagine full D&D setting books for Magic planes will be more carefully doled out. They want each setting to be unique and Dominaria is a bit too close to FR IMHO. In other words it would be quite easy to run FR adventures there without them feeling out of place.
