The biggest news is that the DDI is moving to shorter articles and a 5-day a week release schedule. Also, Martial Power 2 is introducing a new mechanic called "Martial Practices" which are essentially rituals that require great physical or mental abilities and usually cost a healing surge:

I'm just happy that this is the first Ampersand where Bill didn't feel it was necessary to draw attention to how important he is. I like the change in tone.

There's no Dark Sun content. He mentions that he was working on it recently, mentions that it was part of the announcement, then doesn't mention it again.

I'm amazed that this is 'protected' content. It's essentially an ad. It's stuff you would want ALL of your potential audience to know.

And shorter articles?

To me that reeks of filler. The longest articles now will probably (ironically) be preview and advance material.
