I want this game in a non fantasy setting -- post apocalyptic or gritty sci-fi would be fun.
I'm currently doing a fantasy with a sci-fi twist campaign without much changes:

The Beastfolk PCs discovered their 'ancestries' are evolved animal forms that were discreetly manipulated by an alien AI, on a starship that crash landed hundreds of years ago.

They discovered and breached the ship. They found plasma guns and rifles with only 10 charges each. They now have that as a Secondary skill on their char-sheet. In a bizarre room they were teleported on Volturnus (Star Frontiers) the planet of adventure.

So far, they encountered the Ul-Mor (land-squid people), survived a few combats against bizarre beasts. They discovered what happened to them and are trying to reach a small space port. There they hope of find a way to return to their home planet.

Players are good sports and play along pretending not to understand many things and forcing me to explain science as simply as possible, which is quite a challenge.

Tomorrow night is the next session. They will arrive at the space port but find it abandoned! A mystery to solve for them.

A gamer after my own heart! Excellent.

I would love to see the Dragonbane engine expanded to other genres. I'm a big Mythras and other BRP/RQ family of games fan, and Dragonbane is a beautiful simplified version of that family of systems.

My first experience with Dragonbane was with a guy that ran an old school Greyhawk adventure that he adapted. I felt like I was back in the early 90s playing an old school game! It was a blast!!!

Might not happen. Free League have stated that Dragonbane is for fantasy only. Their multi-genre system is the Year Zero Engine.

Doesn't prevent third party companies from creating them under the licence (I think). SpaceBane sounds cool and scary to me!
