Drow for players

Has there been any official release of the Drow as a PC race? I'm just not finding it on the WotC if there is.

Yep, drow are in the FRPG. There was also a preview on the WotC about a month ago.

Yes, it's in the Forgotten Realms Player's Guide.

Thanks. I was avoiding getting the setting book in lieu of developing my own more fully, but I'll pick it up soon.

The guidelines are good, but superseded by the FRPG which has a few differences between it and the MM player writeup. The other benefit of buying the book is you'll get the full writeup for the Genasi, the swordmage class and the warlock Dark Pact, plus the paragon classes which quite a few of them don't require any real story changes to fit into other campaigns.

Just clarifying, based on the wording of your post.

The "setting book" is the Campaign Guide, and it contains no mechanics whatsoever.

The Player's Guide contains the actual rules and mechanics for running the Drow as a PC race.

If you pick up the "setting book", you won't find what you're looking for.

I agree. I"ve never run an FR campaign in my life nor do I intend to, but I find the Player's Guide chock full of easily adaptable awesome crunch.
