Earthquake Dragon - Concept Art Contest

On the blog ArtOrder (Jon Schindehette, D&D Senior Art Director), WotC is running a contest for the concept art of the Earthquake Dragon. I stumbled across this on the scifi news website, io9:

The Earthquake Dragon does not yet exist, but if WotC gets excited enough about the best submitted piece, they just might create the beast!

I believe a friend of mine sent in a piece for the contest.

This is orders of magnitude cooler than shoe designs

Personally, I like #44 best. There are a whole lot of amazing drawings there, though.

42 was my favorite. Its a cool idea for a contest.

I don't really like #27. I don't really look at it and think of grinding, shaking rock. I guess it's a fair representation of an earthquake, but I don't think it's really catastrophic.

#46 captures it, for me at least.

For myself, I like #7 and #45.

Number 7 is quite different from your usual dragon and I love the charging picture below the first one. I think it could be quite neat in combat with all those limbs.

Number 45 just seems powerful and majestic and damn awesome. It reminds me of Shadows of The Colossus which I think is a very good thing to work toward with a Earthquake Dragon.

I don't think #7 is draconic enough to be a dragon; it would be a good picture of demon though.

I like the sleekness of #2

Love the way #3 was well thought out!

#8 looks exceptionally classic!

#10 is EPIC AWESOME. I love the looming terror of it!

I like the mythic influence of #15. Very much THE Earthquake Dragon, the one that causes them all, with its struggles!

Love the wings on #25!

Love the raw elementalism of #32!

#38 is an AWESOME picture. Not sure how I would fight it, but it looks so incredible!

Kind of a fan of #39. I usually shy away from "light is magic power!", but coming out the back is interesting

#45 is something I'd face in God of War! That's stellar! Not really a D&D monster, but awesome!

Ditto #46!

I like the wings on #49.

#50's got kind of a cool look

I don't see #53 as a dragon, but I do see it as something adventurers would fight.

I'm partial to the HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE dragons, but they would certainly be highly impractical for 4e D&D minis combat.
