Elemental Perfection Epid Destiny?

Hedgemage

First Post
This could be a very short thread if someone can tell me if this has already been covered in a supplement or Dragon mag.

I was wanting to create an epic destiny that at the end has the character becoming one with elemental fire, earth, water, etc. The idea being for spellcasters who specialize in one type of magic (cold, thunder, fire, etc.) and them gaining perfection with that element.

I've never developed any custom class stuff for 4E, so I'm not quite sure if there's some guidelines I should follow regarding what is balanced, or if its just winging it.

Would it be best to have a different epic destiny for each element type? The way epic destinies are written, they are pretty narrow and don't really give options for powers depending on the focus of a character. That's understandable since they're supposed to be the ultimate focus of a character.

There are a few with an elemental theme --

Prison of the Winds (related to the wind primordial Heur-Ket)
Storm Sovereign (thunder and lightning)
Avatar of Storm (divine-themed thunder and lightning ED)
Winter Sovereign (fey-themed cold ED)

I think you could write one single epic destiny with generalized abilities, but I think writing several epic destinies (or one epic destiny with very specific abilities for each element you are interested in) would result in abilities that are more interesting and flavorful.

Looking at the current epic destinies is probably the place to start, when it comes to balance and inspiration.
