Enchantment to retrieve a weapon?

0-hr

Starship Cartographer
A character in my campaign is paranoid about losing his weapon (like by dropping it overboard during a ship fight) and so wants to put some sort of enchantment on it that allows it to be recalled at will. Is there any exiting thing that does this? If not, what value of enchantment do you think it should be?

I found the "Maiden of Weaponcall" in R&R but that does more than is needed, and also costs 90k! I am thinking that since a "returning" ranged weapon costs +1 bonus, that a "summonable" melee weapon would probably cost a +2?

Are the other (eaiser) ways to achieve the same effect? This character in particular is a 9th level cleric at the moment.

Summonable as a standard action : +2
Summonable as a free action : +3 maybe more. It must not override the quickdraw feat. And must not allow to override the disarma manoeuver and such things.

IMO

I believe Sword and Fist has callable armor that is +1. I don't know if that got errated...I think +1/+2 would be fine and I would make it a standard action.

You are both wrong:

Mahali, you're confused with the bag of holding.

Heward’s Handy Haversack

A backpack of this sort appears to be well made, well used, and quite ordinary. It is constructed of finely tanned leather, and the straps have brass hardware and buckles. It has two side pouches, each of which appears large enough to hold about a quart of material. In fact, each is like a bag of holding and can actually hold material equal to as much as 2 cubic feet in volume or 20 pounds in weight. The large central portion of the pack can contain up to 8 cubic feet or 80 pounds of material. Even when so filled, the backpack always weighs only 5 pounds.

While such storage is useful enough, the pack has an even greater power in addition. When the wearer reaches into it for a specific item, that item is always on top. Thus, no digging around and fumbling is ever necessary to find what a haversack contains. Retrieving any specific item from a haversack is a move-equivalent action. Heward’s handy haversack and whatever it contains gain a +2 resistance bonus to all saving throws.

Caster Level: 5th; Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, Leo_mund’s secret chest; Market Price: 2,000 gp; Weight: 5 lb

Yep, errata says Free Action now.

As for the "pointy object" debate, it specifically says "each is like a bag of holding". To me, that means it gains the vulnerabilities of a Bag of Holding too, so sticking a pointy object in an HHH still has a chance of screwing it up.

Grrrrrr.... Friggin errata's

Can I say I think the errata is wrong? Although it would be a house rule

I concur for the no pointy objects though. Sorry, my bad.

Anyway, back on topic, I wouldn't allow it to be "as a free action" for anything under +3.
