Announcing a new series of PDFs from E.N.Publishing, and another community project...

E.N.Arsenal

Each product will concentrate on a different weapon, starting with E.N.Arsenal #1 - the Spiked Chain. Each E.N.Arsenal product will be released either as a PDF or as an article in the E.N.World Player's Journal (depending on the size of the final product). The PDFs will be competitively priced based on size and content, with the biggest of these being releases such as Three Arrows for the King - The Archer's Guide, with the average release being a $4, 20-24 page PDF.

Where does the community come in?

We are accepting manuscripts and proposals for this series from the E.N.World community. Those with suitable proposals will receive a free rtf copy of E.N.Arsenal - Spiked Chain as a submission guide and writing outline. Final products should be either 2,100 to 3,500 words in length for publication in the E.N.World Player's Journal, or 7,000 words or more words for publication as a seperate product. Compensation will be by our standard contracts for articles and e-publishing.

What books are already being written / are in production?

E.N.Arsenal 0 - Archery has already been released under the pre-branded title of Three Arrows for the King. (written by yours truly, M. Jason Parent)
E.N.Arsenal 1 - Spiked Chain is going into final production this week. (also penned by me)

in addition, we have Daggers almost done by the crew at Dark Quest Games, and our own Ryan Nock has placed 'dibbs' on Whips.

My next piece in the series will probably be focusing on another exotic weapon from the exclusively d20 arsenal - the dire flail or spiked gauntlet or another non-historical weapon. Either that or head to the other extreme and do a piece on the Gladius.

And our April release will be E.N.Arsenal - Sticks and Stones - a full-length release about using hunks of wood (sharpened or otherwise) and lumps of rock as weapons.

This means that most of the weapons in the various books are still available for interested parties to cover in the product line. Personally I'd love to see an article-length piece on shuriken and similar light throwing blades, and a book about the khukri (or khukhuri, or however you want it). Plus of course a short book on Crossbows, and someone willing to cover the longsword would of course be a boon.

When does this all start?

E.N.Arsenal - Spiked Chain is aiming for a late October release, maybe sooner. Just have to work out the rest of our pending releases first. :) After that, it's trying to get these out as fast as they come in.

I'm curious what, exactly, is in these 7,000 word documents. Historical information? New rules? Magic weapon? Advice and techniques? Special feats?

Where can I get more info?

I wish I had time to definitely sign on for this. Something like Nets and Bolas would be amusing. Or maybe a book of Axes, that could be cool. But I have too much of my own work that's late as it is. I have a character that could use some Spear goodness. Hmmm.

I'm assuming three arrows for the king would be a good place to start until Spiked Chains is released.

I've sent you an email about it, Hellhound, but I might be interested in doing Longswords after I find out what you guys are looking for, specifically.

Looking forward to that Dagger book I tell ya.

I know you are, Joe.

In fact, you were my inspiration for this series. :)

I really wanted to do the daggers book, but DQG already had it in production.
