[Faiths and Pantheons] Heartwarder mistake?

Malin Genie

First Post
The 6th level class ability for a Heartwarder gives the benefit of Spell Focus (Enchantment) and Spell Penetration to all spells with a verbal component. However, Spell Focus (Enchantment) is already a prerequisite for the PrC itself !

Is there an (official or unofficial) correction?

Should it ge GSF (Ench.)? Or Spell Focus (any spell with a V component regardless of school)? Or some other alternative?

From the FAQ...

The heartwarder prestige class (from Faiths and
Pantheons) has the Spell Focus (Enchantment) feat as a
prerequisite, yet at 6th level, a heartwarder gets the voice
of a siren ability, which works as the Spell Focus
(Enchantment) feat on spells with a verbal component. If
this is correct, the voice of a siren ability is no benefit at
all.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbspThis is a typo; the voice of a siren ability gives you the
Greater Spell Focus (Enchantment) feat and the Spell
Penetration feat, but they apply only to spells with a verbal
component.

Thanks!

As a follow-up question; could a Heartwarder of 6th level or higher take Greater Spell Penetration (V spells only) as a Feat using the Voice of a Siren ability as a virtual prerequisite?

I see no reasons why not. Rangers may take Improved TWF at ninth level, using their "but not with a double weapon nor in heavy armor" TWF as a virtual prerequisite, so you have a precedent.

The splatbooks state that you can use "virtual feats" as prerequisites, but the whole feat chain will only be available under the circumstances that grant you the virtual feats
