We all have campaigns we have intended to run, or really wanted to play in, that either fizzled out or never materialized in the first place.

What is the campaign that you really wished you got to play or run? What went wrong? Is there a chance to do it yet, or has that ship sailed?

I have a campaign that I had planned at like age 14 that was interrupted when I moved to a different State called "Return of the Ice Witch" that I have wanted to run for basically 40 years now. Probably will never actually do it.

The campaign premise is that everyone makes a character who is some sort of childhood friend of the youngest son of a famous King who saved the nation from a terrible witch some decades prior, and the campaign begins with a prologue of an anticipated assassination of the prince while in court (by initially invisible goblins) that the PC's have to intervene in. The Prince then delegates his friends to investigate a rumor he heard in the city of a witch operating out of a store in run down part of town.

I started developing a Glorantha campaign, playing as Lunar agents, to be run under GURPS 4e, but some of my players didn't like the idea of the setting, feeling religion was too important. That is really massively missing the point of Glorantha.

It looks pretty easy to unclip BRP from RuneQuest and substitute GURPS. The reasons for doing it included the more detailed combat system, the possibility of using Ritual Path Magic for Sorcery, and the ability of the Lunar Investigation Bureau to recruit people with specific disadvantages. For example, a Seven (LIB teams are always 7 people) might be used to transport a bribe to some chieftain. Having someone with the Honesty disadvantage to act as treasurer improves the odds of this going right.

I ran a mangled version of Storm King's Thunder as part of a larger campaign. I thought it was great. But I have mixed feelings about the overall campaign, which was my very first level 1-20 campaign. I'd love to get another chance at SKT, using all that I've learned, and tweaked to match my taste.

I am going to run Red Hand of Doom because I'm sure my players would love it.

I am also hoping to run a Waterdeep/Undermountain megacampaign one day.

Outside of D&D...

Great Pendragon Campaign. I mean, c'mon!

Night's Black Agents. I bounced off this system hard. But I love the adventures. Dracula Dossier. Zalozhniy Quartet. Persephone Extraction. They all read amazing.

Twilight: 2000. The latest edition from Free League. I got to enjoy this as a player for a campaign that lasted over 20 sessions. I'd love to run a campaign set in America.

Star Wars. I am a big fan and have never had the chance to run a prolonged campaign in the SW universe. Not sure what system I would use.

Eclipse Phase. An amazing cyberpunk universe.

Shadow of the Demon Lord/Weird Wizard. A fantastic ruleset. I just need to find the right adventure(s).

Gamma World. I really want to see an official 5E version of this game!

EDIT: Added even more campaigns I'd love to run or play in...

I would personally love to play in any D&D 5e 'post apocalyptic' campaign. Unsure if 'Dark Sun' would fit that bill. Maybe 'Mad Max'. Unsure if my current DM and group would like that though.

I think it would be The Traveller Adventure along with a bunch of the Traveller Adventures.

Oh, hell, yes. "Lords of Thunder" from The MegaTraveller Journal would be a Traveller mini-campaign I'd love to run.

I once had a dream where a group of earth people get sucked through a portal in their sleepwear and discover themselves on a hillside where a number of armored corpses lie. They loot the corpses for the armour, weapons and tools etc and then recognize personal items on the corpses that belong to them. - they then hear the screech of an approaching predator...

The PCs have gone back in time and found their own dead bodies from the last time they got sucked through the portal - now they have to work out how to find a new portal and avoid whatever it was killed them the last time

The infernal machine rules from.Avernus would be of use here.

I have never played Ravenloft in any edition. I read the original, but for whatever reason, never had a chance to DM it. When I look at 5th's edition, I would have really liked to play in it. But I just haven't had the chance.
