Favorite revival era Doctor Who?

I would have a hard time choosing. They were all pretty darned good, and who I would like to watch on a given day could change with my mood...

If you had some weird tech such that you could put a selection of electrodes on my head and suck the truth of it out of my skull, I would be unsurprised to find my skull said "Tennant".

The Eleventh Doctor will always be my Doctor. I really liked Tennant too at the time, but there's just something magical about the Moffat years. Capaldi was really good too.

And yes, the typo in "Eccleston" pains me. Doesn't seem to be a way to edit it now, though.

If it were up to me, I'd take one Tennant season out and make it another Eccleston season. I liked Tennant but got tired of him by the end of his run, and think Eccleston was fantastic. I also felt like "Rose and the Doctor" turned into a very annoying duo under Tennant, I think she was much more grounded with Eccleston and shifting her arc so that there was more of 9 and less of 10 would be good too.

Smith is my favorite overall.

I'm listening to the Tenth Doctor Tales audiobook and the love affair (British?) fans have with Doctor/Donna, Donna/Doctor is pretty wearing on me. I got tired of Rose, too, but the 24/7 Donna stuff was a bit much for me. In this case, maybe she's the one who wanted to do all the audiobooks.

Tenant followed closely by Smith. Both have really strong fun sustained performances that I thoroughly enjoyed with a lot of highlights, but Tenant has more highlights for me. Eccleston and Capaldi have about 50 50 really great ones that stand out as fantastic and amazing and really poor writing that drag them down comparatively. Hurt is pretty fantastic (mostly because I already liked him so much) and I thought was a great choice for the War Doctor but there is just not that much. Whittaker was really let down by the writing, particularly the repeated tell don't show that she is clever and unearned deus ex machnia solutions. Gatwa had some really good ones but mostly is comparatively meh as far as being a Doctor for me. Jo Martin was fine, but there just was not that much. I really wanted the writing to be better for Whittaker and Gatwa, I felt they could have been great.

I absolutely love Ten and Donna. They're a perfect match. I think we got just enough of them together in the original run. I was glad to see them back together to resolve one of the worst companion exists in Doctor Who history. But the nostalgia quickly wore off.

Jo Martin was fine, but there just was not that much.

Yeah, that's about where I am as well. Jodie Whittaker and Ncuti Gatwa were fantastic in the role, but both were let down by less than stellar writing.

I’ve loved them all so far, but haven’t seen Whitaker or Gatwa yet.

I’d go with Tennant overall. Usually, I have an adjustment period to a new doctor and need time to warm up to them. Smith was opposite I took to him immediately but was very ready for him to be done by the end.

My favorite Doctor is Tennant. My second favorite is Christopher Eccleston. Then probably Matt Smith but I havent seen any of the Peter Capaldi, Jodi Whittaker or Nctuti Gatwa versions.
