Another entry in the HeroQuest OG paint set, "I present to you, the Murder Hobos featuring Bettie "The Barbarian" Page!" (Thanks to
@MGibster for the Bettie Page mind worm, now I can't unsee it with the barbarian's hair..)

Oh and an Abomination who rushed the stage.

Overall this was a fun set to work on. While I've experimented a tiny bit with color dilution and color mixing, the yellow for the tunic was what I'd term my first really successful mix to get what I was looking for. A key takeaway is I need to drybrush more white on my non-monster NPCs. I don't mind a grimdark vibe but it's still too dark (the barbarian's skin most especially but some of the lighter colors like the elf's pants and collar). I think as I improve my slapchop priming I will see a difference there. When I try to paint white primed minis, my speed paint technique
really shows its flaws. Heh
I did watch a great video where they used some AP airbrush designed paint skin tone after the fact to punch up their regular speed paint flesh, I think I'm going to get some of that and try it on the barbarian.
Beyond that, I think I have some goblins, the gargoyle and the evil caster left and I'll have painted at least one of each of the OG set.
Oh, quick question for those who paint or enhance the bases. Do you start all of that before priming, typically after, or is it a very grey "it depends" on what you're trying to do with the base? For these ones I want to start experimenting with something simple like some sand but I have a feeling I should have done some prep work before finishing the painting of the actual miniature. Thanks!
