I am working on a list of key resources and whenever I do a search I find more generators, tables, etc. So here are my fav five I use repeatedly and would like to hear about from others when prepping or running their DnD game:
  1. Kassoon is likely my #1, I keep the NPC generator open during my games, I also use the:
    1. the Combat Generator
    2. Hexcrawl Map Generator-not the map itself but the weather, encounter ideas for when the characters travel
    3. Towns-mostly for the inns and shops
  2. Fantasy City Generator-I can't resist heading here to create 25000 individual NPCs at a time!
  3. Watabou.Itchio
    1. Big city map/Village Map
    2. Area Map
    3. Small Dungeons
  4. DnDSpeak100-dozens of odd little additions and details-most recently the Hag Generator for a three hag coven. Very inspirational
  5. Chaotic Shiny-also an excellent collection of odd generators. I use this one regularly to generate Events that happen while the characters are off on an adventure, something they hear about when they get back to town
Each of these I use for specific things but I think each of them can be used simply to stir up some new ideas.
