Wizards of the Coast has revealed four of the subclasses that will appear in this summer's Arcana Unleashed. The reveals came via a news article posted to Variety about the upcoming second season of Dungeon Masters, Wizards' D&D Actual Play show. The upcoming season will utilize material from Arcana Unleashed, with an adventure set in the Anauroch Desert of the Forgotten Realms. The cast will each play as characters with subclasses pulled from Arcana Unleashed.

The four subclasses from Arcana Unleashed are:
  • Arcane Archer Fighter
  • Warrior of the Mystic Arts Monk
  • Transmuter Wizard
  • Vestige Warlock
The description for Season 2 of Dungeon Masters is as follows:

Our heroes, magical agents of the Order of the Ninth Quill, are hurled into the lethal expanse of the Anauroch Desert: a shattered wasteland still radiating the catastrophic magic of Netheril’s fall. A fragile, shimmering barrier is all that stands between Faerûn and the arcane horrors buried beneath the dunes, and it’s failing. But the desert itself is anything but quiet. The Bringers of the Cosmic Dawn seek to tear the barrier down in pursuit of their own vision, while the Red Wizards of Thay maneuver in the shadows, hungry to seize the arcane power within. As if that were not enough, the desert itself seems intent on killing them. One problem: these kids are the absolute bottom of the barrel. Let’s meet The Misfits.

Wizards has confirmed that two more seasons of Dungeon Masters will be released prior to year end 2026.

Very interested in the Vestige patron warlock. I considered having characters find a single main patron or wheel-a-deal with a variety of spirits for their power to be the main branches of the class. I was surprised when a "binder" wasn't an option at first. Glad to see it now.

Hot take but Binder was better and more interesting flavour as its own seperate class, it was designed perfectly to convey s disturbing creepiness that Vestige as a Warlock Subclass simply lacked, it could be cool and fun in its own right, but was never about to recapture the original horror and creepiness of the OG class.

Big fan of the original binder, especially the notion that they were a Con-based caster . . . you don't need smarts or insight or a strong personality, just a body that can take the stress of being possessed by creatures outside of the natural order. And all the lore and role-playing stuff was fun. Hopefully a great choice for someone who wants to roleplay a bunch of different personalities.

I really wanted the sorcerer to be Con-based based on them channeling innate power. I like Cha for Warlocks, as they are bargaining for power, but it never sat well for sorcerers for me.

I am so pumped about the WotMA! I hope it is similar to the UA version, in particular the EK-like cantrip attack sub. That’ll open up so many cool gish builds.

I would love to see them play G.U.R.P.S. An RPG with real stakes for once. I would love to see how they would build their characters and how they would traverse different situations that D&D mechanics just don't have! That would be truly interesting!

"Interesting" is certainly a word I would use, but 'interesting' does not mean 'entertaining' or 'fun for the viewers'

Also being, y'know, a Wizards of the Coast actual play, they're probably not really going to want to look into a non-Wizards RPG that's well past its heyday
