I was just wondering how many of you visited a local store for Free Comic Book Day this year. If you did, what was your experience like (good? bad?) and why?

I was just wondering how many of you visited a local store for Free Comic Book Day this year. If you did, what was your experience like (good? bad?) and why?

I went to the two local shops, and had generally good experiences at both. There was definitly an increase in people in the stores, especially young kids (under 10 years old).

One store had everything set out and you could take as many books as you wanted, including a bunch of old backstock titles that had been sitting for a long time. Most of the selection was geared towards kids, which is a good thin, IMHO.

The second store was a bit more restrictive on what you could take: walk in traffic was allowed one book per person, and comic subscribers were given a bag with a preselected set of 5 titles, which they could swap out for others on the table, but still a maximum of 5 titles per person.
