If I view this as a stand-alone episode, this was one of the first episodes to completely underwhelm me. (others had thier moments, but i didn't have any in this episode... and the revalation of the what the lever was for the weapon just felt forced and insulting...).

However, I am trying to look past that given that this was to setup the season finale which is next week. In that context, I can actually forgive the episode. And I am definately looking forward to the season close coming up next!

Well, there was the bit about his family and their hereditary knowledge and associated quest that's passed down from generation to generation. But it was a quick thing and not a focus at all.
