Paraphrasing:
"Do you miss being a scientist?"
"I am still a scientist. I just have a larger lab".

Also a fun fact - apparently Startrek exists on the alternate Earth. Or at least Vulcan Mind Melds.

That was a very creepy quote that says a lot.

I don't know why, but the posters for "Dogs" the broadway play (instead of "Cats") was hilarious to me. (The poster was most visible in the season opener when it was also the advertisement on the taxi as well). But I like all that attention to detail hidden in the background (not obvious so as to distract, but subtle for enjoyment if you happen to notice it).

Oh yeah, I have to say, Astrid (alternate) really freaked me out this episode for some reason. She went from this sweet brilliant woman (Astrid prime) to this cold emotionless calculator in this alternate universe - probably the one main character with the -largest- difference in personality between the two worlds.

I'm hoping someone can answer a question for me. I just got into the show and recently got caught up to this episode. How is it that the Bishops were able to travel back to the blue dimension if they needed Olivia's power and Red Olivia was never dosed with cortexiphan? Has this been answered? The show is usually pretty good at continuity, but this bugged me.

Probability guy reminded me a lot of the Observers. I wonder if they're a cross between the hyper-smart guy from Red Dimension and the hyper-sensitive kid from Blue Dimension.

You mean at the end of last season when the Oliva's were switched and the Bishops still needed to get back to the blue world?

They didn't want Oliva to do it because she wouldn't have been strong enough (to get from blue to red she had 3(?) other cotexiphan patients helping her, she wouldn't have been able to do red to blue on her own - at least, that is how Walter rationalized it).

So William Bell was able to send them back under his own power (presumably killing Bell in the process, but basically he vanished in to the light he produced so he could just be energy and come back at some point in the future).

Yeah, that's what I mean. I got that Olivia didn't have the power and Bell sacrificed himself due to his atomic instability. However, I thought the whole reason they could travel between dimensions in the first place was because Olivia's cortexiphan power is to see/interact with the other dimension. In which case, how could they get back?

yeah, Bell had a machine that he himself used to travel between worlds. It's based on the same design that Walter had.

Walter built one long ago when he first took Peter from the other side - but his machine was destroyed and Walter vowed not to recreate it. But Bell was very "pro other world for study" and part of that was building his own version of that portal machine. That's part of the reason Walter and Bell didn't get along in the later years.

As was stated, devices had already been created to cross over. What makes Olivia special is her ability to cross between universes without consequence.

When Walter first crossed over to save Peter, that is what caused the all of the problem the alternate universe is having, or so it has been laid out.
