Good episode.

It advanced the story line quite a bit, and examined some backstory details from Walter's past.

Wonder what the boy's function will be in the final four episodes.

Agreed, good episode with good motion. Turns out that I wish that most of the "freak of the week" episodes in the first couple of seasons didn't exist and there was more room for this (not that it would actually work that way). Very enjoyable.

Who was the green fairly supposed to be? I couldn't really make out the face.

I was a bit thrown by the green fairy, something I'd always thought was associated with absinthe as opposed to LSD. And I had no idea who or what it was supposed to be. :/

I thought the green fairy might be his wife, but I couldn't ever make out the face well enough.

Turns out that I wish that most of the "freak of the week" episodes in the first couple of seasons didn't exist and there was more room for this (not that it would actually work that way).

I've been doing a marathon rewatch of season 1 over the last few days.

Even the season 1 "monster of the week" type episodes, were weaved in quite effectively with the underlying storyline arcs.


On the other side of the coin, season 1 is VERY different than season 5. It's almost as if they were completely different tv shows, with the same actors. (ie. Season 1 resembling a Law & Order or CSI with X-Files style stuff, and season 5 resembling a post-apocalyptic scavenger hunt).

I guess the green fairy turned out to be a further representation of hallucinagens is all. notice how she tried to get his full attention, but failed and was dismissed? no wormwood for Walter this time.
