Gamer-Inspired Christmas Carols?

Flynn

First Post
Good Evening, All,

I've got a Gamer Holiday party coming up next week, and many of us sing terribly. However, it's always been part of the fun growing up that we sing Christmas carols, so I'm looking for carols that fit the theme of our party. Does anyone know of any Gamer/RPG Christmas Carols that I could share with the gamers coming to the party next week?

With Regards,
Flynn

With a little bit of misinterpretation you could adapt several.

"Deck the halls with boughs of holly" (deck = hit solidly so that it falls down)
"Troll the ancient yuletide carol" (An old troll called Carol)

or

"Jingle bells ... sing a 'slaying' song tonight"

;)

In the first room of the dungeon,
My GM Gave to me
Some kobolds; 1 d3.

(I think we can alternated gold, magic, and cur'sid rings when we get to five)

Hot dice rolling like they are on fire,
Monsters falling by the score,
Saving throw rolls made without modifiers,
And attacks and damage results soar.

Every gamer knows a dungeon and a dragon foe,
Help to make a gamer's night,
Finding a trap before off it does go,
Will save some healing spells tonight.

We know there's demons on the way,
They're summoned often just before we slay,
The big bad one, that evil guy,
If we kill him our DM might cry.

And so, don't spend too much time on melees,
Or spells with flash that just subdue,
(Though, as they say, it's "nonlethal" these days),
Better Slaying, (sans the praying), to you.

A friend of mine and I wrote this a few years ago:

(To the tune of "Winter Wonderland")

Whips go crack! Are you listenin'?
Hit your back! Blood is glistenin'!
We're trudgin' along, singin' a song,
Travelin' with the orcish caravan

We never got to the second verse, but we did write something for the bridge verse:

In the meadow there's a little village
Isn't it a pleasant little town?
When the night falls then we'll raid and pillage
And then we'll burn the whole place to the ground!

Christmas, 1984. Our DM ran a dungeon for us.

10' hallway, leads to a 10x10 room, 1 orc. (1HD monster)

Door from that room leads to a 20' hallway, then a 20x20 room, 2 gnolls. (2HD monsters)

Door from that room leads to a 30' hallway, then a 30x30 room, 3 bugbears. (3HD monsters)

...etc.

Thankfully, after the 5th or 6th room, he cut down on the number of creatures, because 12 red dragons (the final room) would have been a bit tough. :)

To this day, we always play at some point over the holidays, and always refer to the session as "The 12 Dungeons of Christmas."

O Christmas Ent, O Christmas Ent
Thy leaves are so unchanging
O Christmas Ent, O Christmas Ent
Treebeard's so unyielding
Lonely since the Olden Days
Lost his Love who went away

(From Tasselhoff)

Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas
Let your sack be light
From now one your money will be out of sight.

Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas
Making Flint's beard gray
From now on his knife will be miles away.
