He Mans been projected to lose money for a while. Been predicted to flop for a while $190 million budget apparently.

Mando has very good audience scores. I would argue Disney has damaged the brand severely. ST and to many underwhelming TV shows espicially BoBF and Obi Wan. Both of them should have been slam dunks.
Yeah, He Man is being well reviewed but isn't predicted to do well. And I suspect lack of brand recognition amongst the key demographic (pre-teens) is the problem. It looks like it will go in the box with Mando and HAT* - good movies that people didn't go to the cinema see.

It looks like Horror movies and Mario are the only things that are profitable at the cinema now (and that's mostly because horror movies are cheep to make). Can't help feeling that Doomsday is doomed.

*As an aside, I discovered a friend of mine who knows nothing about D&D went to see HAT because she likes Chris Pine!!! Go figure. She enjoyed the movie anyway.

Doomsday could be interesting. Billion dollars or 400 million hmm not sure.

I dont remember the MotU cartoon. I remember the toys and movie.

Also remember picking the toys up for $3.50 ($2.30 usd) in 1988. Guess they were on clearance.

MotU has quality buzz at least. Might go see that.

Looks like a good year for theaters, bad for Disney.

I remember the He Man cartoons but I was too old to take it seriously or buy the toys. I enjoyed its camp silliness though. I wouldn’t mind seeing the movie but I’m not sure my partner would want to go. More likely to go if we have another spell of ridiculously hot weather.

I suspect Mando will do well on Disney+ at least. Starfighter is possibly a bigger worry for Disney. All the rumours coming from the production sound like it’s going to be worse than Rise of Skywalker.

That would be seriously impressive. If true, I’m there on opening night!

I think I was the right age, but it was too transparently an extended toy commercial and never resonated the way serious, well-written shows like Transformers did.

Dune is too cerebral. Cerebral sci-fi almost never does well. Movie theaters are not places for thinking, they are places for feeling.
Compromise Shrug GIF

Though, yeah I know.
