Nothing really new to add, but I got to Black Spire Outpost at Disneyland (California) last week and it 1. Rekindled a love of Star Wars and 2. Gave me an opportunity to really comsider if I care about "cannon" or not. And I * think * it clicked that I don't--just fun storytelling and the SW universe. Also, been watching Visions, Season 3, which certainly helps "Cannon doesn't matter."

Yeah, there’s some really good stuff in those Visions compilations. I’m glad The Ninth Jedi is continuing. I’d like to see more of the lone Sith samurai dude and also that female Jedi known only as F.

I watched the Ventress episodes of Tales From The Underworld tonight. it started off really strong but kind of fell flat at the end. I am curious if it continues at all.

How can Leia pass the torch when she herself is unsure of the way?

But then, the ancient Jedi texts offer a glimmer of hope: a long-forgotten Jedi temple on Tython that might hold the key to repairing Rey’s saber. Rey leaps at the chance to journey there—and to her surprise, so does Leia.

Rey and Leia’s nascent mentorship is put to the test when they discover the temple on Tython is filled with obscure clues to decipher and arcane trials to complete. As they work to unravel the temple’s mysteries, they encounter a group of refugees living in its shadow, hiding from a First Order officer hot on the trail of two freedom fighters in their midst. With the threat of the First Order looming and the secrets of the temple yet to be unlocked, the newly forged master and apprentice must confront their pasts, reach each other in the present, and decide what it means to carry the legacy of the Jedi into the future.

I would feel better about such a book if there had been, like, any hint of that happening in The Rise of Skywalker. Was there?

On screen, not a lot. But it was pretty well set up that TFA showcased Han, TLJ showcased Luke, and ROS was supposed to showcase Leia. Then real life gave that the middle finger and took Carrie Fisher out of that equation.

Filling in that gap with a book is a pretty obvious choice. I'm more surprised it took them this long to get around to it.
