General star wars talk/discussion/complaining

All of this is spot on, except I don't think I have ever heard "Hoth is underappreciated" before. Isn't it often considered one ofthe coolest sequences in the entire OT?
I mean, Empire is pretty much the consensus best movie in the franchise, and while I like other movies better I don't think I can disagree with that generally, but when people talk about it I almost never hear about the assault on Hoth. I could obviously name countless other great things about it but that one jumped out to me. Easily the best ground-based large-scale battle in the series until maybe Rogue One

Its been recreated in multiple video games since the 1980s. Irs generally a highlight of the movie. Its units still turn up in games.

Underappreciated not seeing it. After I am your father its the peak of ESB imho.

If Star Wars can't make spaceship dogfights exciting enough to bring in the kids, they should basically fold up shop.
I grew up with (a) the original X-Wing and TIE Fighter PC games, (b) a boatload of Legos, (c) my brother's WEG Star Wars D6 books, and (d) my family's home VHS recording of The Return of the Jedi off network TV that I watched so much I wore the tape out. If there's one thing draws me to Star Wars, it's the spaceship dogfights.

Well, then I was wrong and it is properly appreciated.

Not seeing a lot of positivity!!!!

Yeah thats another obvious stand out.

Starship, lightsabers, Jedi, Sith. Thats Star Wars 101 imho.

Endors still great space battle.

I remember shooting AT-AT walkers on the Atari 2600 and arcade game iirc.

You know what, I'm refusing to allow negativity on May the Fourth. Boo to that. Your task: say something genuinely good about every movie in the franchise. No copouts!:
Challenge accepted. (I can only do things ive seen)

ANH: Ford is the best second or third pick casting of all time.
ESB: Leia intimately kissing her brother (which she doesnt know at the time) to upset Han. Luke trolls him as well.
RotJ: Luke goes James T. kirk against computer on the Emperor and Vader.
PM: Ewan McGreggor is a great casting for young Obi-won.
AoftC: (damn this is tough....I can do this...cmon...) Temura Morrison was a good casting as Jango Fett.
RotS: Emperor getting Emperor turkey neck face using dark force was great.
FA: Daisy Ridley, Oscar Issac, and John Boyega are great casting for the new sequel characters.
TLJ: Final planet scenes are absolutely beautiful.
RoS: Wrecked death star scene in Ocean Scene is cool.
Rogue One: Looks like a starwars movie (that hasnt happened since Return of Jedi.)
Mando season 1: Bounty hunter droid in final episode is pure awesome.

After reading Attack of the Clones' novelization, I don't think I had ever looked forward to anything in my life as much as watching Yoda use a lightsaber. And at least in the mind of 12 year old me, who forced my dad to take me to the theater to watch it while on vacation, it lived up to the hype.

I don't think Lucas or Disney really appreciated how much the novels and novelizations helped them over the years. Sure, there was a lot of cringey stuff in some of them, but they also cleaned up a lot of the genuine issues with the movies.

The original Star Wars novel included stuff about Luke's friends that we never saw any film or even stills of for years and helped make him less of an insufferable brat by their inclusion.
