That was more encouraging than I thought.
I’ve never played in Greyhawk, but, IIRC, Verbobonc was ruled by a Viscountess in the Justicar and Escalla novels
I dunno, it beats the "Scarlet Brother- and Sister- and Gender Non-Conforming Siblinghood"They renamed the Scarlet Brotherhood the "Scarlet Order," apparently.
Maybe it was just me, but "Brotherhood" sounded more clandestine and vaguely ominous, like it expected (or rather, demanded) loyalty on the level of family, evoking a mafia-esque implied threat. "Order" just seems...meh.
I mean, that would be a very Ankh-Morporkian direction, but they already went with "let's make the Atlantian racist fascist albino Assasins more inclusive for our family friendly game"....soooooI dunno, it beats the "Scarlet Brother- and Sister- and Gender Non-Conforming Siblinghood"
I mean, I'm sure there are plenty of female Atlantian racist fascist albino assassins, and we'd hate for them to feel excludedI mean, that would be a very Ankh-Morporkian direction, but they already went with "let's make the Atlantian racist fascist albino Assasins more inclusive for our family friendly game"....sooooo
Greyhawk 2024: the setting with nuanced fascists!I mean, I'm sure there are plenty of female Atlantian racist fascist albino assassins, and we'd hate for them to feel excluded
Closest it gets is calling them "Suloise militarists". I think the general form, "[ethnicity] militarists" implies a certain amount of bigotry. Is there anything in the 2024 DMs Guide that actually says the Scarlet Order is racist?
As far as I know so far, no.
