D&D 5E (2024) Guardian of Faith + Radiant Soul Damage Boost - how does they stack?

ECMO3

Legend
So my Celestial Warlock Multiclass is going to get Guardian of Faith and Radiant Soul in a few levels. I am trying to figure out how these work together WRT saves and damage and how long the spell lasts. The verbiage from the spell and the ability are at the bottom.

So my Warlock has a 20 Charism, if the bad guy moves into the range and rolls a save and fails, he takes 20+5=25 damage. I think that much is straightforwad, but does that drain 20hps from the guardian or 25? I think it only drains 20 from the Guardian.

Now what if someone moves in and makes their save. Do they take 15 damage or 12 damageL 20/2+5=15 or (20+5)/2=12. How many hit points are drained from the guardian in this case?

Finally, what if the Guardian has 10 hit points left and someone walks into the area. They take 10 damage whether they fail the save or make the save, but what about the +5 rider? And if the guardian only has 10hps remaining can I even do the extra 5 from Radiant Soul at all?

Thoughts.

Guardian of Faith: A Large spectral guardian appears and hovers for the duration in an unoccupied space that you can see within range. The guardian occupies that space and is invulnerable, and it appears in a form appropriate for your deity or pantheon.

Any enemy that moves to a space within 10 feet of the guardian for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there makes a Dexterity saving throw, taking 20 Radiant damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one. The guardian vanishes when it has dealt a total of 60 damage.

Radiant Soul: Your link to your patron allows you to serve as a conduit for radiant energy. You have Resistance to Radiant damage. Once per turn, when a spell you cast deals Radiant or Fire damage, you can add your Charisma modifier to that spell’s damage against one of the spell’s targets.

I would say it drains the 20hp.

The bonus 5 damage are a bonus from your own ability not generated by the spell itself.

The key point is to distinguish between the spell's damage and the Guardian's 60 reserve: only the base damage (20 or 10 if successful) counts towards making it disappear, so the +5 from Radiant Soul does not reduce this reserve.
