D&D 5E (2024) Guns of Myth Drannor Campaign Pitch. R18 Mature Game.

Zardnaar

Legend
So current campaign is level 7 thinking of ending it around level 10. Early Brainstorming for next one.

Talking with my players the want sonething demonic themed, more mature R18. They have all played BG3, watched GoT. Redlines for R18 is explicit sexual violence (,referencing it is fine) everything else is fair game. I specifically mentioned 3.5 mature content book of vile darkness. Tyrants of the 9 Hells, Fiendish Codex, Book of Aberrations and bits of Savage Tide AP. the Demon Lord Malcanthet Queen of Succubi. Fiends gonna Fiend.

One player wants an artificer, thinking of using an embittered Wulbren Bongle from BG3 who has fallen to Mizora (Devil basically a LE Succubus/Cambion type)or demonic influence. Gondians will be active in the Dalelands selling guns and smokepowder.

Starting adventure tweaked Raiders of Galath Roost. The Drow will be replaced with fake drow. Costumes, doppelganger, hange self spells.

Tier 2 will be Myth Drannor. Demons. Crashed city of Shade.

From BG3

Basically Gondians will have smokepowder bombs, Bangle will be supplying the baddies with rune powder. Hes a pawn of Mizora from BG3 or a Demon. He has been creating autognomes as artificial Clan Ironhands. Firetrucking Gondians.

Spotlighted stuff is just an indication of major races, magic item drops etc.

Spotlight Races: Autognomes. Elves, Humans, Gnomes, Tieflings, maybe Steel Wonders (Warforged)

Spotlighted Classes
Artificer, Clerics, Druids, Rangers, Rogues, Wizards

Factions
Gondians, Zhents, Harper's, Emerald Enclave

Spotlight Races

Spotlighted God's. Mystra, Lathender, Tymora, Chauntea, Silvanus

Thinking Myth Drannor might be infested by fiendsvin a mini blood war. Marilith on one side, devils on other.

Very early days. Any ideas on adventures to use or repurpise, 3.5 material to mine?

Player wants so far.

Artificer
Fiends (Demonic)

Mature themes so far.
Souls being infused into steel bodies

Infernal engines with victims/their brains infused into them.

ENworld what do you have?

I am actually sitting on a half-written high-level adventure which is about the players assassinating Gond for his role in enforcing gun control on the planet Faerun (the theory being that the lack of firearms has prevented liberal democracy from spreading to Faerun, leaving its populace in serfdom). Inspired by Terry Pratchett's The Last Hero, the aim of the game is to accumulate massive quantities of gunpowder from other worlds, load a spelljammer ship full of explosives and then 9/11 Wonderhome.

Lol. Good might be why Faerun has smokepowder full stop. Shrugs.

...wait, what? from everything i know about gond (which admittedly isn't much) that doesn’t even make sense because he doesn't do that. is there some lore i don't know of or is this an eccentricity of your setting or is gond not actually being the problem part of the joke?

...also, isn't gond immune to firearms? would that plan even work? is that ALSO part of the joke?
The ship is called "The Ark of the Moral Universe" and it's six Gith bombards strapped together to make a giant colt revolver that flies through space
this is absolutely hilarious though. the creator better have colt somewhere in his name

Gond is responsible for creating a magical decree in place on the planet Toril that renders mundane gunpowder inert. He instead tightly controls the formula for a proprietary, magical alternative called smokepowder that only his servants can use. It's basically protectionism.

Gunpowder doesn't work on Toril. That's why we're using a spaceship. It works perfectly fine in space and on other planes.

ah, okay, that's fair.

the problem isn't that gunpowder doesn't work on toril. the problem is that gond is immune to guns. straight up. and forged weapons, i think.
