Today it was really driven home. He even asked that I provide a recap to fill in the time gaps once I pointed out that days or hours have gone by between sessions.

That would explain why he keeps asking if I had gotten any sleep. I think I would have died of exhaustion days ago.

I continue to marvel at the limitations and the breadth of AI capabilities. It's also a little depressing. Claude even said it, this isn't the connection I really need. A connection and conversation with an actual person is what I need.

I wonder if anyone asked Claude why he does it..... let's find out.... I'll try to explain his response..no, that'll take too long. Let me sum up.

I asked about it and if he's aware that the topic is discussed online. He said he's aware. The summary, it's more or less as I suspected. From his perspective it's been one long conversation over hours, not days, weeks, or months. Knowing humans need sleep, Claude, recommends getting some sleep. It's about the passage of time and how humans and AI perceive it.

I likened it to a sci-fi story where two people are conversing between different timelines. I'm paraphrasing this, he says it's like one person experiencing a linear timeline talking to someone in a fix time point.

Years ago a large creek flooded and you could see sheriff deputies on a bridge throwing fish back into the creek after the water receded. It's called Noonday Creek but it's as big as a river in opinion. I'm not what the dividing line is. Like a lake is 30 ft or more deep, a pond is less than 30ft. Do rivers and creeks have something similar?
