Your builds spotlight the customizability of the 3rd editions. I love it.
It’s my favorite edition for that reason.

3.X designers gave us LOTS of ammunition to let our imaginations play around with. After a certain point, I didn’t design anything that looked like a stereotypical D&D character.

If I EVER get serious about writing fiction again*, I’m certainly going to be using that ruleset as kind of a “setting bible”, and would probably be using several of the actual PCs I designed back then as main or supporting characters. I’d have to avoid using most of the ones that were inspired by copyrighted characters, of course. Part of that would be because they really would come across as Temu knockoffs of the originals.

* and yes, the thought has crossed my mind.

I think Temu knockoffs get a bad reputation. I watched a video where a guy bought a transformer off Temu. It was smaller and the color scheme was off. It clearly wasn't what it was supposed to be. I think if you're looking for a generic Transformer to fidget with it could be an avenue to go down. It's not for serious collectors. I thought it might be a possible source if you wanted miniatures for a RPG. There was a Transformer inspired RPG for 3rd Edition. I have the book around here somewhere.

One was a high Dex Githzerai Monk (or Ftr/Monk?) that used a polearm as a monk weapon (Dragon Feat) with Combat Reflexes & various polearm feats to become a true master of controlling the battlefield. He’d get all kinds of attacks of opportunity as opponents closed, retreated or simply passed too close. In some combats, his damage per round exceeded that of the barbarian he was fighting alongside (and behind).
components.

I loved the fiddly bits of 3.5... I originally came here when the official WotC forums closed.

Human swashbuckler/swordsage with a spiked chain and combat reflexes, primarily using the shadow hand style, smacking everything everywhere for great-weapon damage because he added str x 1.5, dex, and int to his damage, and sometimes even wis... Top-level skill-monkey. And did I mention he got sneak attack without being a rogue? lol...
Fun fact: I realized after I created him that he was, in fact, the "mysterious mentor from a faraway land" of one of my previous characters... :p

Today was NOT a good one.

Miss Dog wouldn’t settle down until the wee hours, so everything about my day got pushed back much later in the day. So I was running back & forth to & from the house on a tighter schedule than I like.

Then, when I had only one last errand to run, she asked to go out to the backyard. Well, right after she finished #2…she fell into it.🤦🏾‍♂️

Annoying & unfortunate, but not a disaster. I emptied my pockets of electronics, put on my yard shoes, grabbed a towel and went outside to grab the hose. Spraying her clean was pretty easy- she was VERY cooperative.

But when I went to turn the water off, the knob shot out of the wall mount, unleashing a jet of water. The water cutoff was (unbeknownst to me) in front of the house. (And even if I had known, we don’t have the right tool to shut it off.)

So I’m there trying to reattach the handle assembly back to the wall while water is jetting EVERYWHERE, soaking me thoroughly and blinding me, making it very difficult to properly seat the bastard onto its itty-bitty threads.

I yell at mom to 1) call the plumber and 2) open the garage so I can get to the tool chest…then reversed the order on my requests.

I finally managed to get the thing properly seated and screwed it on with a wrench. By that time, the plumber was en route.

He checked my work (I did it properly), then showed me where & how to turn the water off, as well as the tool I’ll need to do that.

And I STILL had to change clothes to go to the grocery. (Just now finished putting everything away.)

Thankfully, though, everything that happened was small stuff.

No, don't put bananas in my butt
I told you before my butt is not a banana door
Don't put bananas in my butt

Sooo... Back when I worked at the plastic bottle plant, there were a number of attractive ladies there who were from various Central and South American countries. I spoke some Spanish, so I always got along well with them.
We had a young guy come through, he was only there for about six months, who was constantly trying to hit on them. So, one day he asked me to teach him some Spanish so he could impress them.
I taught him to say a couple of sentences, and he ran off to try them out on this lady Gloria. He was very confused when she burst out laughing so hard she fell over.

The Phrase I taught him to say was, "Yo soy un mono odio, y yo quiro poner platanos en mi culo."

Which translates to: "I am a stinky monkey and I like to put bananas in my butt." :p :p

I don't know that much Spanish but I was able to puzzle out most of it. If I know the context I can often work out a close approximation. Two words I always listen out for feo and gordo.
