Got delivery of a big boardgame (the package was 20 kg) earlier this week: Horror on the Orient Express. Kickstarter with extra everything. Time to bring that to the table at the boardgame night at the local gaming club. ;)

Topmost left is basic game, then the 3 next to it are expansions. and the two rightost boxes are upgrade components.

I need to get a picture of Heroes of Might and Magic III. It's a lot of boxes also. I thought Gloomhaven was a big game. At least it all fits in one box.

I watched an episode of a scripted drama 911 Nashville. Like its parent show 911, it has some unusual situations. A young woman calls 911 because she's experiencing pain but doesn't want the fire department showing up because it'll be embarrassing. She reveals she has something stuck where it shouldn't be. Two female paramedics show up to help. Upon examination they see ROOTS growing out of her. The young woman had heard a potato can prevent pregnancy. Turns out she's under 18 but needs it removed quickly. They do it just in time for the mother to show up and kick them out.

The parents sue the city because they treated the daughter without their consent. I have no idea how much time has passed but during a break in the hearing the girl starts experiencing pain again. The paramedic asks when she had her last period. 8 weeks ago. She's 8 weeks pregnant with an ectopic pregnancy. If the paramedic wasn't there she might have died. The parents drop the suit.

I have questions. No one noticed the roots coming out? She had to be walking around like a kid with a loaded diaper. There wasn't a smell of any kind? No one saw a plant sprouting between her legs? How did she sit down? Did she give herself time to heal after the harvest? Lastly, who would have sex with a cooch potato? Besides JD Vance.

Outgunned's Action Flicks vol 1 has Weirder Things which allows you to play children on an adventure. I'll let you decide what property it might be based on. A Kind Of Magic is a very wizardly adventure.
Vol 2 has a Star Knight who wields a laser sword and might make you want to go home and rethink your life. Mighty Swords has a rather voluptuous redhead with a big sword.

I read on this forum someone commenting on how familiar a lot of the art work looks. I mean the little green orange guy with a cup of soup isn't too on the nose. I mean does it really matter? Look how adorable he looks.

They're trying to help people recreate their favorite action movies with these. The artist is taking something familiar and giving it her own little twist.

One thing does disappoint me, so far there are no people that live forever that want to cut off each other's head. Maybe that'll be in Vol 4.

I think if I were to run a game again I'll try Outgunned. The rules seem simple and easy to learn. I had wanted to give Everyday Heroes a go. They teased Everyday Arcana but I'm giving up hope. Martin will publish the next Game of Thrones book before Everyday Arcana is published. I might also change my mind when the new Cypher System books come out. One big difference in the system, the GM doesn't roll any dice. Bad guy wants to hit you, you roll to dodge or parry. You make all the dice rolls. And their system is supposed to be generic enough to plug into any genre you want to run.

I bought a lot of the original Numenara/Cypher system stuff, but never got to play it. But I liked the way it seemed.

I’ll probably do likewise with the new edition.

You also have me contemplating Outgunned.👍🏽

Playing SW:TOR this morning and somebody mentioned the lack of folks running around with Cathar characters (the cat people) using the type 4 male body (aka the "John Goodman" frame, lol)...

Thus, I now have a character based on a Siamese cat - he's a fluffy white Cathar Sith called Lorde Fluffles*. :p

*The game's stupid naming restrictions apparently won't let you use "lord" in a name...

I recently learned Numeria in Pathfinder is related to Numenera, now I want to see if I can find the books on it.

One of the benefits of supporting the crowdfunding for the new Cypher is access to PDFs of the original version. Adventures, source book, core books. I have them but I don't have any physical books yet.

They opened the pre-order store for the most recent books. You can get all previous books also. If you're a real big spender you can get everything Outgunned for €599 or $687. The dice scroll is nice. I have one. Looks like a leather scroll case that can hold dice and be rolled out into a rolling surface. They have dice also.
