Haste + Persistent Spell (feat)?

Am I interpreting the Persistent Spell feat correctly? Can it be used to extend the duration of the (arguably overpowered) Haste spell?

Yes by giveing up a 12th lvl spell slot. So you have to be a 26th lvl caster.

Not that you can get the same thing from armor of Speed at say lvl 12-14 with all you cash.

No. Persistent spell only works on spells with a range of "Personal" or a fixed range (such as detect magic. Haste has a range of "Close" and that is not a fixed range, as it increases every level.

Your right. I was just thinking about that you can cast it on yourself and it does not have a duration of instant.

I think I must have been making the same mistake. BTW - 12th level spell slot? 7th, by my calculations. (Moot point, though.)

Now I just have to find a way to gently break the news to one very gung-ho player...
