Am I missing something?

Then the page with the satyr has two different monsters listed. Granted, they are both types of satyrs and should be listed under satyr but they are not in alphabetical order like the cutout is saying. I found this terrible in the MM where they could not list things together and to find a dragon you need to look under young or adult or such.

Minor point overall I guess. Do like the art they have been showing.
Dragons in the MM were grouped by their color. So all types of Green Dragon would be together.

In the MM they also grouped all bandit, gnolls, goblinoids and various other things together even if they had a bit of a different name between them. Heck MM Satyrs had two types.

Anyway I presume the Dragonflights will be grouped on color as well.

For things they can do. Black's can use Heat Metal, Incendiary Cloud, and can cause areas of the ground to become molten.

Blues can use Ice Storm, Wall of Ice, and a special Dispel magic that causes targets to take damage for each magic effect ended on them. Creatures hit by their cold breath also can't use Spells or the Magic action.

Bronze Dragons can use Slow and Time Stop, a powerful guiding bolt, and can cause time to accelerate for a creature to give them a level of exhaustion.

Well, if you put it that way: doesn't that imply that 'bandits' should be listed under 'pink(-ish), 'gnolls' under grey(-ish), and 'goblinoids' under 'green' ? Now that it apparently has been established that we should list 'monsters' by color ?
;)

For what it's worth: in the 2024 MM, 'Adult <color> Dragon' gets listed under 'A' for 'adult', and in the 2014 MM they all get listed under 'D' for 'Dragon'. Well, in the index at least.

I am looking at the 2024 MM right now. In the book itself they are grouped with each other.

I think I see the issue, you got confused by the index listing them togeather.

But as you can see from the pages they are spread across the book based on the type of dragon.

For some reason I'm surprised there's original art in this; I figured one of the appeals for this on WotC's end would be they can just access Blizz' art database and save on commissions.
