How do I determine the weight of objects?

How do you determine the weight of metal doors, stone walls, etc. I'm asking because I need to adjucate shatter in my campaign, and it effects a solid object of 10 lbs per caster level.

Is there no game mechanic for this one? I know about the weight based on height for creatures, but there's nothing in the books about weights for materials. That seems a big oversight considering teleport and shatter both rely on weights.
