How do you give an accessible comparison to a non-role-player of a TRPG session lasting 4 hours?

So what examples can you guys think of that would give a non-role-player a proper frame of reference for a recreational activity they enjoy being a weekly 4-hour event?

So, for a recreational activity weekly for 4 hours?

"Poker night with my friends."
It doesn't tell you about the actual play, but the social-get-together portion of it works well enough.

I want to mention 2 things before I get into the issue:
1) I know some role-players like to have sessions closer to 2 hours, and don't have time or interest in longer ones. I'm talking to all of the gamers who are accustomed to sessions of 4 hours or longer.
2) The conversations I'm talking about are not in the context of inviting someone to play with us, they are just in context of explaining playing RPGs to friends.

I have had multiple instance when I'm telling a non-role-player how long sessions last, and they just can't even comprehend it. They seem to think they have no frame of reference for the sort of time spent on a recreational activity that I'm talking about.

I'd imagine the amount of time one can spend in a fantasy <sport> league through drafting and the course of a regular season, could be an example one might use.

Do they have a video game they really enjoyed playing, such that they lost track of time?

Have they ever made Thanksgiving dinner, or hosted another holiday party where a majority of the dishes were made by them?

These can broadly take the same block of time (occasionally, more!)

Forty-five minutes of action spread out over three-ish hours.

"It's like sex." Then fill in the rest however you like.
Welp, there goes my joke.

The people I'm talking to typically have kids now,
And there's the problem. Having kids means that you don't do anything for four hours, and likely don't remember those beautiful days as well.

"Ah. Finally, I can sit down and start writing..."
"MOM! Miley hit me!"
"DID NOT! OW! LET GO!"
::Chaos resumes::

A four-hour session is like watching a lot of professional sports games, especially if there's some pre-game stuff. A lot of sports fans do that multiple times a week.

Having always done 4-6 hour sessions, I can't imagine a 2-hour session. You wouldn't get anything accomplished!
One UFC card, if you are watching the prelims and main card, runs closer to 6 or 7 hours. When I went to a card at Madison Square Garden, my wife and I sat for the entire thing, with some walking breaks in between. There were many around us who did the same thing.

Showing up to a football game where there is tailgating is the same thing. I've only done it once, but it was an all-day event. I would also throw poker tournament into the mix. I mean small tournaments can last 12 hours, large ones (I think?) days.

And then there are some people who get together to watch LotR or Endgame as kind of a watch party. That might also be a bit comparable. Lastly, there are video games. It has been forever and a day since I have played one online, but I do know many younger people will play through certain games and it will take hours.
