How many dice do you carry?

I think I usually carry about 9 or 10 7-piece-sets (so about 63 or 70 dice total). In practice only actually use the same 3 sets or so at the table though, since the most of them look very nice, but because of that the numbers are harder to read. And yes, that does mean I made some mistakes with buying dice in the past. (Can provide pictures if desired) Oh, well.

I also carry a 'hit location die', which has no mechanical meaning in D&D 5e, but I like to use it when I roll a crit, just to see - for flavor - where the crit landed.

Very game dependent. And I've only played one non-online game in the past 12 years...and I didn't get to roll anything in that game. lol

Player only, so: one full set that matches whatever character I'm running (dark green for the current ranger), plus a battered spare d20 that's older than some of my group. They live in an old glasses case which gets a comment from someone at the table pretty much every session.

By carry, I mean carry to a game session, not how many you own. Like most of us, I own a lot of dice. But when I go to a game session, I obviously don't bring them all.

If I'm GMing, I probably bring 3-4 sets with extra d6s--probably 8d6 in total.
If I'm a player, I bring 2 sets, usually color-coordinated with the PC I'm playing (like my silver/blue dice when I play a paladin, or my green jewel dice for my druid, or my Moldvay basic set when I play OSR or AD&D). I will have 4d6, and if I'm playing a caster, 3d8 as well. If I get to higher levels as a caster, I'll probably add some more dice depending on which spells I typically use. Fireball means 8d6 for example.
I have a small cigar box idk 3" x 4" x 8" maybe, that I usually have 2 sets of 11 dice ea.(rotate in by mood), and a couple misc. sizes like d30, d60, solid metal d100 and a 1d2 decision coin/die.

altered by the game playing, or level but not often we deviate from needing the standard dice set. Haven't played shadowrun, vtm, or swd6 in awhile, so haven't needed a ton d6, d10s lately... but I got em covered if need arises ;)

For what it's worth: an 'old glasses case' definitely sounds more interesting than the average 'dice bag', which I currently use.

--- edit --- I still carry my dice, dice bag, dice tray, dice cup, player handbook, and character sheet(s) in a brand labelled shopping mall bag, instead of a non-descriptive back pack because it can hold more/all of the things I carry. The other people at the table may have an opinion on that, but I never heard one of them express it so I guess it really is not an issue.

When going to a con, 2-4. Two of the standard set, and if I'm playing DCC RPG, Shadowrun, or some other system that requires non-standard dice/large amounts of dice, specific dice sets for the game(s) I'm playing.

For my regular groups, 0, since we use online dice rollers.

When I read the question, I thought it asked how many dice do you carry with you whenever you go out. Meaning anywhere. I always carry a 2d20, 1d12, 1d00, 1d10, 1d8, 3d6, 1d6 (another colour), and 1d4. At one time, I did carry a 1d3 (a d6 with only numbers of 1-3 an the sides), but when I realized I took them (there were two) from an ancient board game and irreplaceable, I stopped taking out with me. Also had two six-sided dice with the numbers of 0, 2, and 5, from the same game.

Anyway, back to the original question, I'm ready to game wherever I go.

I bought a hardware storage box that holds all my sets of dice, which is probably 80-10 sets. Whether I'm a player or DM I have a set of about 20 dice, (3) d4, (6) d6, (2) d8, (2) d10 percentiles, (1) d12 and (2) d20, (1) d30. I keep these in a small dice bag. I also have some specialty dice like hit location, damage type, NPC, traps, etc., but I don't use them too often and don't usually keep them at the table in my dice bag. I usually buy a new dice set every 5-10 years.

I have that same hit location die. For clarity, I painted the injury location with red acrylic paint. 😁

my EDC, currently, in my go-bag all the time, game or not, is 100d6 (1cm) in a tin, and 3 sets of polies with an extra d12 each set.

In my session box, another 80d6, 5 sets of polies, and an extra d12 each. Also 5 sets of mini-polies and a bunch of 10mm d6.

Two sets of those were added last week when I forgot the session box.
